Dr Duncan S Goodland

I was born in Southville, Bristol longer ago than I care to admit! Having been decreed educationally sub-normal at Southville Primary School my parents moved me to Clarke's College, Clifton where I passed my 11+ and went to St George Grammar School. From there I went to Bristol University and qualified in 1973.

Most of my hospital jobs were in the Bristol area and I was one of the first doctors to be appointed to the Avon GP Vocational Scheme. I first came to this Practice in January 1978 and have remained here since, growing with it!

Following a fall from a horse in the late 1980s, I obtained a certificate to confirm I am mentally safe to be a GP. I am hence, the only partner to hold such a certificate.

I have been a trainer for more than 15 years now and still enjoy involvement in medical education. I have always been interested in medical politics and am at present on the PCT Executive.

I am married to Jane Savage and have two sons - Alex and James, and a big Dalmation called Oscar. I have always been interested and involved in local community groups and amongst other things I remain a member of Yate Rotary and Sodbury 41 Clubs.
